I think that is is very important for us to cite our sources because if we use a website that does not give the correct information. So basically if your are writing a paper and you use a incorrect source you are writing a incorrect piece of information.

It is important for us to cite our sources for many reasons. One thing would be so that we could could go back for more information. Also, you can not take all the credit for your work and the information. We learn from many issues on the internet. People also what to know if you are telling the truth.

When we site our sources it lets the teacher know that you actually did the work. Its inportant because it lets them know that we didnt copy and paste. I have learned that wikapedia can not be trusted. People can just go on it and change the answers. I also know not to go on bad websites.

  6. December 3rd, 2012 at 12:20 PM      Reply Andrea Moreno Says:

Our responsibility in the digital community (as consumers,) is to be cautious of where we surf online, since there are viruses out there to hurt your computer. As producers, when we create something in the digital community, it is important to cite our sources, so the reader/consumer can double-check to see if the information is correct or not.

  7. December 3rd, 2012 at 12:20 PM      Reply Madison Hill Says:

Our responsibility is to follow all rules and regulations, and people must watch out for. It’s important for us to learn how to evaluate and cite our sources because it shows a sort of respect to the person who wrote it. You become a better researcher by learning etiquette for writing something. If you don’t, it usually leads to plagiarism. It’s ok to borrow work with the correct permission, NOT to steal someone’s creations.

  8. December 3rd, 2012 at 12:21 PM      Reply Aaron West Says:

Our responsibility as producers and consumers is to make sure we are careful and safe. It is important to cite your sources because the research that you do isn’t yours so you have to give credit to the creator. If you don’t cite your sources that is plagiarism. We are learning to make a bibliography with our essays and research to give the creator credit and that is respectful to he/she.

  9. December 3rd, 2012 at 12:28 PM      Reply Courtney Nation Says:

I find it very important to cite our sources because someone could think that thought of the passage and it could be someone else’s. That is called plagiarism and it is illegal. As a consumer to other websites, you have to be careful. There could be viruses or scams. Especially in ads. Also people can be critics to websites you make so always be neat and intelligent.

  10. December 3rd, 2012 at 12:32 PM      Reply ashley oliver Says:

A producer someone who produce and makes goods and services. A consumer is a person who buys or takes in that good or service. It is important that we cite our sources because if you didn’t people wouldn’t know things and people would change your words. I would make sure that people don’t change the words that i spread and that it would be very plain and simple to know.

It means i have and easier way to find what im looking for even if it is school work defenition, a video, or just plain information. No matter what im trying to find I say the internet has changed the world and most likely the future to come and i say that if we need something from it as long as it’s age appropriate we should be able to search and find it. What im basically trying to say is that our rights as producers and consumers in the digital world should remian until the government says otherwise.

As kids we are more so consumers since most of us don’t have a job or have not created anything. When we get older as consumers we will have to provide for our families. As producers we will be held with responsibilities of creating or helping to create products for the world

Being a consumer to me means that when the want is high then I want to buy it because its a popular item, but a a producer i would want to produce something that is a high want for the consumer so I can make profit. And also something that would be used by the consumer.

  26. December 3rd, 2012 at 2:57 PM      Reply Samantha McCafferty Says:

If we cite our sources we are giving people the credit they deserve.
Learning about internet safety and not to trust “certain” websites, is important of being a consumer. I have learned in the past that sites must always be checked because they cant always be correct.

  36. December 3rd, 2012 at 5:24 PM      Reply Andrea A. Says:

we need to cite our sources because, as consumers, may not steal a producers idea. It is illegal to copy off of somebodies work. They don’t like it when we take credit for something they did. would you like it if some one stole your greatest idea ever and took credit for coming up with it?

  37. December 3rd, 2012 at 7:54 PM      Reply Audrey Blanchard Says:

As consumers, it is our responsibility not to copy a producer’s idea and not to go to unreliable resources like Wikipedia. We need to cite our sources to show that we did do our work, got our information out of a reliable resource, and give the producer the credit for the information. To see if information is true, I have learned to compare different source’s information to see if they are matching.

  38. December 3rd, 2012 at 8:10 PM      Reply Clara Hunter Says:

Why is it important for us to learn how to evaluate and cite our sources? What are you learning that will help you become a more respectful and responsible researcher?

    – This is important because if you were to write something that was very useful or written well would you want some one taking credit for it? It is illegal to take someone’s ideas. In our new generation it’s easy to copy and paste. But kids need to have that principled grown up in them to know what right and wrong.

  39. December 3rd, 2012 at 8:14 PM      Reply Fiona Says:

It is important to cite our sources because if we use some ones information we must give them credit for their work. If credit is not given we could get into a lot of trouble. The owner of the information could sue you for “taking” their information.

  40. December 3rd, 2012 at 8:28 PM      Reply Madison E. Says:

it is important for us to learn how to evaluate and cite our resources, so that we know how to research, and that we are able to help others if they need help with something on the computer. also if we need help an no one knows the answer, you’ll be able to solve your own problem. This is also helping you become a better researcher by letting you find all the key parts, and were to find them without doing all the extra work.

  41. December 3rd, 2012 at 9:00 PM      Reply Kennedy Moody Says:

I think it is very important to cite your sources because if you do not, you are acting as if the writing was your own. This is called plagiarism. Basically your are giving yourself credit for something someone else wrote.

Seeing what the boys at our school say about the girls sending pictures and videos tells me not to do send inappropriate pictures of myself. One of our classmates posted a picture on Facebook. The next day everybody was talking about it. They call the girl out of her name. When kids see the pictures and texts, they think it’s okay to called the girls all kinds of names. You think if you share it with one person that they won’t show the pictures to everyone.

It means having a digital ID card comprising of information on your activities. You might need this for the following reason: social networks, conversation, online gaming or content creation, promotion. It means being identified about something or from you on the Internet. It also means that you can stop the bullying in world over the internet. The Golden Rule says “Don’t do unto others as you don’t want it do unto you.” That basically says that don’t say anything about others if you don’t want others say something about you.

  50. December 19th, 2012 at 2:09 PM      Reply Engl!shhh Says:

Being a digital citizen as a producer and consumer means you have to watch what you say or do online because it’s going to be there forever and is going to come back. For example, six years later you might think that everything is over but it’s not. People can copy and paste, save or delete another’s work and they should not do it without someone’s permission.
