From the attic that’s never been swept but holds so many memorable objects that’s so dear to me and I hope it stretches and grows like a never ending line because that’s life to me.

    Where I’m From
I’m from hot sand and sunny skies, from a salty sea as blue as a Jay’s wings.
    I’m from sun burns,
When my face burned brightly, and my back was on fire.
I’m from short summers and short school years, from a place where winter doesn’t exist, and summer gets up to 97 degrees or higher.
I’m from camping sites and dogs hanging out car windows, carefree.
I’m from friends who would die for me, loyal and trustworthy, from a family I can’t describe, loving and caring. Yet strict at the same time.
I’m from cookouts filled with the smell of fried chicken and burgers.
I am from Miami, Florida in the year 1999!
This is where I am from.

    Where I’m From
    Zoriah,Age 13
I am from smiles and good mornings
    To sweet hugs at night
    From the woods of camping
    To roasting golden-brown marshmallows.
    From barks and meows
    To slobbery pants and purrs.

I am from clicks on the Dell computer
To silent rings on the phone
    From hanging with friends
And being told to come home.

I am from wet splashes with the family
To lying on a summer night under the stars
From school dances and parties with friends
To telling deep dark secrets while catching a late movie.

    I am from rough pain
    And sharp happiness
But most of all I am from
    People who care?
And people who I know will always be there

    Where I’m from

    I’m from this horrible place
I don’t want to call home
    I’m from a person who
    I call mother who
    Cared for me
    That’s where I’m from
    I’m from deadly streets
    A place where everyone’s dying
    I’m from the slavery hills
When they are sturdy as an oak
    That’s where I’m from
I’m from a place where bullying
    Is tolerated in a community
I’m from a place where our American girls
    Are being kidnapped

    I’m from Atlanta, Georgia
Where violence occurs outside of homes
People getting killed because of bizarre things
I am from loud music playing all night
    That’s where I’m from
I am from people hanging out on the street after dark
I am from cookouts with the smell of ribs, hot dogs, and burgers
I am from a place where my family loves me
    That’s where I’m from
And will always be there for me whenever I need them
    I’m from happiness and love
I’m from self- determination and confidence
    That’s where I’m from

    Where I’m From
I am from blue and black skies,
    from day to nightly lies,
I am from deforestation and poor vegetation,
to where you can see the dirt and patches of grass,
    I’m from travel and discovery,
    from one address to another,
I’m from freshly made dough to where am I going to go,
I am from learning and not burning,
I’m from where police officers crowd the streets,
and not where they need to be,
I’m from early boyfriends to heartbreak feelings,
To where failure is not an option, but TRYING is the key,
Nobody knows who I really am, but hopefully my long lasting FAM,
I am from where the people want to make it to heaven, which should be their destination,
Where sin is heavy and not enough peace,
I’m from where you have more pop music than church music in your phone,
I am from where children care about clothes, shoes, and hair
More than an education to get the clothes, shoes, and hair fixed,
I’m from a world that I don’t know but my zip code,
I’m from Love, Loyalty, and Respect to where theres not enough around
And where you can turn your life around.

I’m from the snowflakes that fall on the ground telling children to come around
I’m from ear sizzling sounds of cop car sirens and beeping horns
Busy streets trash at my feet
I’m from gigantic buildings that decorate the sky dark alleys where people hide
I’m from abandon parks not being able to see the stars when it’s dark
I’m from the apartment building view where I see lost buildings and new hopes and dreams
I’m from the beauty behind the madness
I’m from where dreams are lost and found
    I’m from Brooklyn New York

    Where I’m From
    I’m from suburban houses
    From family sized cars
    From home cooked meals

I’m from where creativity and confidence are key
From rough jokes and tough love
    From working on the weekends

I’m from where school is a necessity
Where A’s are praised and B’s are frowned on
    Where competitive spirit runs free

I’m from where being the oldest is a good thing
And holidays are spent with a feast

    I’m from blue and green
    And in between
    Where animals are celebrated
    And are loved and cherished

    From my parents
    My sister
    My family
From the home of the Panthers
    That’s me.

    “Where I’m From”

I’m from a low populated area where the grass isn’t
    really green.
A place where everyone knows each other.
“Hey!” and “Hi!” is all you hear.
    Where the roads have bumps
And hills that cause you to shake.

    In the country,
All you smell is freshly cut grass.
Old houses built in the 1980’s sit
    Happily with their owners.
Stray dogs and cats run everywhere.
Abandoned homes no humidity, just dry.
    Tornadoes form, but rarely though.
Birds communicate while cars zoom by.
    A peaceful little town.

A place unheard of, that’s where
I’m from, the natural state, and
    I’m proud.

    Where I’m From

I’m from a place where your always hot
Where the sun is always hot
Sweet always dripping down your face
My home is a great place

Playing in the woods with your animal friends
Fighting with your brother over simple mistakes
That’s is the place I’m from

    Friendly neighbors that everyone knows
Falling off your bike giving you a bruise
This is where I’m from Georgia
