how might your feelings be similar and different from someone who was living in the 1960s? i think it would be different because they experience it and i didn’t they also know more about it
Do you recall the guidelines about responding to the post? Is your response in compliance?
My thoughts are that its getting better and not worst.
I am not certain I know what you are speaking of because their is no antecedent for the pronoun.
I think that this historic day was powerful. I say this because everything that he did or said was meant for our equality and freedom. I say that my feelings will be less meaningful because they experienced the hatred and racism more than I did, even though it still goes on today. I do have a dream and it is for me to get my education and graduate from college. Another dream I have is for all blacks and whites will stop racism and get along. As a nation and a society we can join together and stop racism and judging of our skin color worldwide so our next generation won’t have to experience what happened 50+ years ago and now.
Well, my thoughts about this day are where whites and blacks should come together and form a good nations.
It can was hard for them because most people where beating because of their skin color.
Yes, I have dream that violence will stop.
We need to come as one nation from white to blacks and blacks to white.
I think the March On Washington did help a little. It helped a little ,because people are still fighting for jobs, education, and freedom.
My thoughts about the historic day is that we should
Remember the sweat and pain that once suffered to
Gain our freedom. Well back then there was racism even now
Whites still don’t agree with our skin color, but at least now we
Can get a free education and can ride the bus instead of walking
100 miles as blacks did in the 1960’s. I have many dreams and I know
In the future I will change the world. We need to overcome being scared
Of who we are just because were black doesn’t mean we have to believe
We can’t be nothing in life because others say so.
Natasha, you appear to have put a lot of thought into your response. I’m curious about the format. Is this the standard?
I think it was wonderful.
Does this address the prompt, Desiree?
My thoughts were how did people react to the day then and now.
It be similar because they have experienced the speech in real life
and I just experienced the speech and it would be different because
they were still going through more racism and they have marched
and I didn’t . I have a dream that we will have an world of love.
We need to overcome us being racist and hateful.
I think this historic day is well enjoyed by the citizens.
Did you respond to the prompt?
My thoughts are that people should not be judged by their race . God loves everybody, race, religion, and everything else dosen’t matter. Some people are just scared of what they don’t know. My Momma always says people are just ignorant and think that they need to make people feel bad just because their skin color is different .
We need to all get along. People need to stop hating other people over stupid stuff & start focusing on what’s really important: The inside. We’re all human. We all have feelings. And no body deserves to feel less than .
Well stated, Lila. Do you think that this was the opinion of the majority in the 1960s?
I think that this speech is so powerful and it really means something. Barack Obama is our black president and he was representing the black when he spoke. Martin Luther King Jr. would be so proud of this country if he was here today. My thoughts would be the same as someone from the 1960’s, but there would be stronger because they lived in those racist days. And I have a dream just like Martin Luther King. My dream is that all of this world will come together not just by our racist but by the continent of our character. We need to overcome our violence in the world.
I think that this speech was giving about the 1960 because Barack was inspire by martin dream because Barack Obama had a dream when he was little that he will become a president and his dream came true because of martin Luther King Jr speech and if it was not for martin’s speech it was not for his speech Barack Obama dream would have never came true so Barack made a speech to think him and his on words.it made mi feel happy because some of this people who was president would have never thank Martin Luther King for what he did.
I think that this march made in diffrence in some peoples lives .It made me feel like this country could march when and where ever they would like .It will probably be in history for years.
My thoughts about this day is that it was a blessed day for blacks to hear Martin Luther King. I think that too many black people take their freedom for a joke. I think that blacks should care about their freedom that we are still fighting for to this very day.
It’s very inspiring to me.
I think that this speech was giving about the in 1960 because Barack was inspire by martin dream because Barack Obama had a dream when he was little that he will become a president and his dream came true because of martin Luther King Jr speech and if it was not for martin’s speech it was not for his speech Barack Obama dream would have never came true so Barack made a speech to think him and his on words.it made mi feel happy because some of this people who was president would have never thank Martin Luther King for what he did.
How might you construct this response so that it is easier for your reader to comprehend? What standard writing conventions might you use?
what i thought about this day. i thought it was a great day for black people to celebrate the dream of martin luther king. witch has became reality a little bit instead of a dream.but black should care more about their freedom than they do . we need to overcome the violence and judging people as there different because every body is equal in gods hands and he created everybody and that the only thing that matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel that president Obama speech was great because it was full of passion and heart. it would be different from back in the 1900’s because back there they was not free REALLY. So i am just happy that Martin Luther King Jr . Made that speech because we are now FREE and HAPPY!!
I think that the historic days were a bad time for black people because they got beaten and killed because they talked to a different color person. My feelings are the same because they did not like getting hurt and my feelings are different ,because I was not there so I do not know what happened to them in that moment. Yes I do have a dream, a dream that can be the effect of our generation. To stop being racist.
Well I think of the day we just learn about 1550’s through the 1900’s. They were struggling wishing that they could see what will happen in the future.Yes that we could reach are goals and that we could get alone. We need to stop fighting are kind and get alone so we can end white’s not liking black’s.
Yes I have a dream that we will stop all the violence I the world and stop all the drinking and smoking in our neighborhood.
My thoughts about the historic day blacks and whites are really free like is the March of Washington. My feelings is similar from living in the 1960 ‘s because people are scary and different because 1960 the women does not get to vote be we can. Yes, I have a dream my dream is a better community. We need to learn to over come is to prove most people wrong.
Well my thoughts about historic day are that I am very proud because we have a great president. This it’s very happy and from who was living in the 1960s is that I very sad. Yes I have a dream, well need to learned and am smart to overcome things in life.
My thought about that day it brought a lot of people into tears. It also made a big change for some people. If I were back in 1960s I would not like it because you have to go all day with people calling you names and you being judged by what color you are .How people you didn’t get the same rights as others and to me that’s no right. Yes I have a dream I have lots of dreams not just one. We need to stop killing people over nothing we need to outcome all of the things that do not matter in this world
My thoughts about the historic day was very important to me because I wouldn’t be right here with no worries about how I have to walk home without getting beat or yelled at every day. I am thankful that Dr.Martin Luther King had a voice for the African Americans. God blessed a man that wasn’t afraid to speak and show how he really filled of stupidity in this unsafe world
My feelings might be similar because whatever pain they went through I fill it in the days that I live in till this day.
I have a dream that many people will worried about how our own family is being killed and suffering in this world that is small but have big problems.
This world need to overcome that we don’t have to be interested in money and worry about how we can have a good world without money problems. Money can’t help us do nothing at the end of life
My thoughts on this historical day is that Martin Luther Kings Jr I Have A Dream speech been alive for 50 years.
Sometimes I want to get away from my house and they want there freedom from being told they can’t be with the whites.
My dream is to is to be a Fashion Designer when Igrow up.
We need to overcome gang voilence and stopfighting people of our kind.
Whites thought that we were dumb but I feel like Dr.King proved them wrong and if they can do it then anyone can do it
Does this response address the prompt? Does it answer the questions?
What are your thoughts about historic day? They still left out a lot of important facts and we got as day in February to celebrate black history and in the other months there are 30 days.
How might your feelings be similar and different from someone who was living in the 1960’s? Probably the same because the people feel as if they have no justice.
Do you have a dream? Yes I have a dream and my dream is that we all can do it and don’t let one word grab your attention because we all can do what’s best for each other.
As a nation and a society, what should we overcome? We should overcome poverty.
