Where would the world be without teachers?

October4
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

World Teachers’ Day, launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has been celebrated annually since 1996. While its purpose is to set forth some guidelines about the rights and responsibilities of teachers throughout the world, it is also a time to reflect on the important contributions teachers make to individuals and society.

What is it that you appreciate about teachers? Do you think that teachers are valued as they should be? Share a brief story or tribute about a teacher who has made a difference for you?

This year’s theme is: A Call for Teachers! Is teaching a profession you would consider? Why or why not?

Here’s what I appreciate about teachers. I appreciate that their here because of choice and not force. I appreciate that they teach us about life and what’s heading our way. Yes they are valued as they should be because what goes around comes back around. Also yes I think about being a teacher when I grow up. The teacher who I appreciate the most is Ms. Roseberry she taught me how to use my words correctly and plenty more.

What I appreciate about the teachers is that they have respect and they really do there best by giving us all their kindness but they really be mean by not letting us do something fun. My 5th grade teacher, Ms. Johnson, is my favorite teacher. She is so funny and nice and she like to do fun things with us that’s why I miss 5th grade. Ms. Johnson was smart and loved to do activities, and she used to stick up for me and help me with my entire problems.

What I appreciate about my teacher Ms. Moore is that she knows when it is time to play and when it’s time to be serious. If there weren’t any teachers it would be crazy. We wouldn’t have any education. We would be dumb. What I like about my teacher Ms. Moore is that she is very fun and she taught us very well. People say nice things about her. That’s why I appreciate Ms. Moore.

I appreciate that teachers teach me and that their teaching teaches me something new everyday. Everyday my brain learns something different from them. They encourage me to be who I want to be. They teach me from my mistakes. Teachers are sometimes valued how they suppose to be. My fourth grade teacher was the best. Her name is Ms. Bennett. She was so nice. She gave my past classmates everything and anything we needed. She made good communication with us and she never screamed at us. She always stayed calm with us. She gave us prep-talks. She cheered us up when she noticed when we was down. At the end of the year it was CRCT time and the many people met the standards and the rest of the class exceeded.

What I appreciate about teachers is the effort they put in to teach students, and the time they take to help us learn. They do a lot for their students, when some students don’t even appreciate their time they take in for us.

Teachers don’t get enough ‘thank you’ or ‘I appreciate the time you take to teach us’. I believe teachers should hear more of those phrases from students. They are giving us our education, by teaching it to us.

I had a teacher in 5th grade; her name is Ms. Berry-Harris. I liked the way she taught her students. She was strict but at the same time she was fun and nice. I mostly liked how she told stories about interesting events that happened, or just random stories. Ms. Berry-Harris taught at a pace where each student would understand it well. She never rushed through the standards/concepts. I appreciated Ms. Berry-Harris and I still do.

I would not consider being a teacher. I wouldn’t want to spend my career around students every single day. I’m fair and patient and can work with students if I wanted to, but that’s not my thing. I’m more into serious business, and a lot of kids don’t take their education serious. I am not about to waste my time arguing with a student.
