Where would the world be without teachers?

October4
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

World Teachers’ Day, launched by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has been celebrated annually since 1996. While its purpose is to set forth some guidelines about the rights and responsibilities of teachers throughout the world, it is also a time to reflect on the important contributions teachers make to individuals and society.

What is it that you appreciate about teachers? Do you think that teachers are valued as they should be? Share a brief story or tribute about a teacher who has made a difference for you?

This year’s theme is: A Call for Teachers! Is teaching a profession you would consider? Why or why not?

“Where would the world be without teachers?”

  1. October 4th, 2013 at 9:44 AM      Reply Jordan Says:

What I appreciate about teachers is that, they give me the education I need to be successful in life and, be educated so I can go to the next grade.

Most of the time, students don’t take their teachers and education seriously so, kids should take advantage of their education.

Mrs. Patterson, She made a difference in me and my life, she made me take education more seriously. Even though she fussed at me and put me out her class sometimes, she was my favorite teacher because she taught me how to learn in a different way, I will never forget that.
I cant be a teacher because kids are disrespectful and I would get fired easily, To be honest I feel the best job for me would be a therapist or a anesthesiologist, because I like helping and caring for people.

I appreciate a lot about teachers but the most about teachers I love is that they teach us about life and what we will go threw and how life will be as we grow up. Yes teachers are valued as they should be because they tell us what’s wrong and right and what life is like.

My favorite teacher is my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Hakala because she always shared some brief thoughts with us that help us through life, if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be the student I am right now. One time when I got in trouble she told me “That attitude of yours is not going to get you nowhere in life but your education will if you keep trying!” She made a BIG difference for me through 4th grade and this is why I am successful now because of this teacher.

When I was going into the 6th grade she called me and comforted me and made me fell loved why I was and the 6th and 7th grade that’s why I appreciate Mrs. C. Davis so I thank you very much for doing what you did for me so all your 5th grade students should love you because you is nice to everybody and do not get anger at nobody so I LOVE YOU MRS. The Teachers That Made A Difference In My Life Through The Years Are Ms. Franklin, Mr.Mathis, Ms.Moore, Ms.Roseberry, And Mrs.Jackson. They Took The Time Out To Talk To Me And Tell me Right From Wrong And What I Need To Know And Do So I Can Be A Successful In Life. They Helped Me With My Struggles To Make Me Smarter. That’s Why I Still Remember My 4th and 5th Grade Teachers And My 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher Now.

I appreciate the cool teachers only. I guess they are valued after all they do help us. Ms. Jackson seems to understand me. She keeps it real and she wants the best for us. She talks to me in a way that makes sense. Ms. Jackson don’t really seem to get mad ,she will tell you what you did wrong without getting all hype or angry . She makes Social Studies a fun subject to learn and you learn it so easily.

I appreciate that teachers teach us what we need and so more to help us lead to a successful life. I don’t think teachers are valued as they should be because one day one of us students will be millionaires and it won’t be cause of us it’s because of them. Our teachers. They should be the ones that are millionaires not us. One of my greatest teachers of all time is my 5th grade teacher Mr.Darville. He kept it real. When we would laugh he would laugh when we would work he would work. One thing I love about him is that he pushed me to succeed even though I say I couldn’t. I do think teaching is a real profession because where would we be without our past teachers.

I appreciate that some teachers are respectful, don’t yell, and come to school and teach us how they are supposed to. I think that some teachers are valued, but not all teachers because some don’t give you the same respect as you give them and they don’t teach correctly and they yell instead of talking calm. Mrs. Moore has made a difference for me because she made me think smarter and made me more mature. She stopped me from going down the wrong path and down the right path.

If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be this close to accomplish my dreams. It depends because when I grow up I would like to be a fashion designer. The teacher that has influenced me the most is my third grade teacher Ms. Holcomb .She was the one taught me the rights of the rights and the wrongs of the wrongs. I think she was the type of teacher that would give you that extra push but it but it would have a little fun in it. When I first moved to DeKalb County I was in third grade. When I first started the school year she wasn’t there it was some teacher that started with a “P” but I never remembered. When we got into the second month of school she didn’t come for a couple days that is when Ms. Holcomb came out of nowhere and started teaching us for the rest of the semester and that was the time she told us that the teacher with the “P” in her name had passed away like literally on a boat . So for the Rest of the year she taught us for the rest of the year and then I learned that who knows what really happened to the rest of the students in my class room. And last but not least teaching is a profession because you have to know the student to be the teacher and act the student.

What is that you appreciate about teachers? I think all my teachers are funny and nice and also they make school to be fun and were we can come to share our feelings about something and sometimes they can be mean when they mad at us or they feel like we are getting out of hand with them.

Yes and the teacher that I like or value is Ms. Roseberry and I say her because she knows were I come from and when I am up set she tries her best to come me down also she’s a loving, caring, and kindness person I ever meet I really love my teacher Ms. Roseberry and I will give the world and my life for her that’s how much I like her. And she made a different for me because I use to be bad in her class then when she told me something’s about her life and tried to compare it with me then I kind of felt better love Ms. Roseberry.

I think that because they want you to be successful in life and also they want you to go after what you believe in like I believe in going to college and getting the best job I always wanted .

The thing that I appreciate about all my teachers is that I know they care. Even though they might yell I still know itsbecause they care and they want us to achieve in life. I like all my teachers, even if they yell at me I still like them because they care and want us to get a good education. I honestly think that some teachers are not valued as they should be, like my 5th period teacher Ms. Hayes. My classmates are so disrespectful to her and I think she deserves better because she is trying to teach us and she really cares. The teacher who has made a difference to me is my 5th grade teacher Ms.Burson. She is the most wonderful teacher. She might yell but its because she really cares about us and wants us to achieve. I will never forget her. She was one of my best teachers. I love her and one day I’m going to visit her. Shout out to Ms.Burson I LOVE YOU!!

What I appreciate about my teacher ,is that some of them go out of there way to make sure that me and the other kids got to learn what we need to learn. Also some of them will go back to the lesson that you don’t understand so you can understand it . Also some of them will pull you to the side and help you with what you need help with. No some teachers are not valued as they should be, because some teachers teach there heart out and some of the students don’t respect there teacher. The teachers feel bad I know they feel bad because if I feel bad about how they treat them. Students can be harsh and stop the other students from learning. The student can’t learn in a loud environment and some teachers cant teach in a loud environment. My teacher Mrs. Patterson taught me last year I may have been being loud and playing in her class but when It was time to learn I learned. She taught me both English Language Arts and Social Studies, my Social Studies teacher this year teaches me well this year her name is Ms. Jackson. Yes I would be a teacher because I like teaching and learning .At home I play school with my little brother . I used to say I wanted to be a teacher but now I want to be a lawyer. The things I appreciated about Ms. Patterson was that she taught me how to behave . I think that Mrs.Patterson is valued as she should be . Mrs.Patterson has made a difference for me by these things. First when I camed to Brown I use to always get in trouble , so Mrs. Patterson will always help me get out the situation . Also I have changed my behavior because of Mrs. Patterson taught me the right way.
